The quarry occupies 50 hectares, which includes excavated areas, the crushing and screening plants, forestry land and rehabilitated areas which are being planted in native trees and shrubs.

Health and Safety – Training Opportunities
We have a strong focus on safety in our workplace, while providing training opportunities, working alongside SP Safety Ltd. Sarah Purdy’s company assists us in ensuring safe work practices for our staff, meeting the requirements of the industry.

Taupo Scoria Ltd is proud to be involved in the Pathways Programme with a local college. We aim to provide opportunities for young trainees considering a career in quarrying and earthworks.

The quarry regularly hosts visits from University Geology students, providing study opportunities in the Central North Island Vulcanic Plateau.
